TROY -- Bethel Baptist Church, 2165 Fifth Ave., will celebrate its 65th anniversary during the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Aug. 19. The Rev. James E. Cobbins is pastor. Guest preacher will be the Rev. Dr. Craig M. Jenkins, pastor of Beth Eden Baptist Church, Chicago, and a former ``son'' of Bethel. The Rev. Allen A. Stanley is also expected to attend.
In addition, a pre-anniversary celebration luncheon will be held at noon on Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Century House, Route 9, Latham. Guest speaker will be the Rev. J. Esther Rowe of Rochester, a former member of Bethel. Tickets are $25.
