Mexican arts center constructs a towering exhibit

The Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum will unveil a series ofsculptures by 90-year-old Mexican artist Rufino Tamayo today - noneless than 6 feet tall.

The towering show also includes 15 "mixographs" by the renownedMexican artist, a surrealist and abstractionist whose work is beingfeatured now in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art as part of theexhibit "Mexico: Splendors of Thirty Centuries."

The Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum, 1852 W. 19th St.(312-738-1503), is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday throughSunday. Admission is free.
